It may be interesting, but it's full of flaws. That broker needs to go back to stock school.

"The dividend will indeed force Shorty to pay the company."

"Shorty will be paying CMKX some money"

Why would they pay the company? If for example there was a cash dividend, the short would owe the cash to whomever the stock was borrowed from, not the company.
