Why do so many of you think that's a Big Deal? Just about every attorney who wants to specialize in securities law puts in a few years (usually very few) with the SEC. That's one reason the SEC is so inefficient: the turnover is enormous. I know of at least one investigation that was derailed when the enforcement person in charge left for private practice.
It doesn't mean he has friends in High Places at the SEC. Probably no one he knew when he was there is still there.
