Maybe the rumors are getting crossed, and it really depends who and what are the sources of these unconfirmed rumors. Maybe the rumor should be that IDCC is about to put their foor in Nokia's butt over at the ITC. And therefore some are speculating that if QCOm bought IDCC then Nokia wouldn't have to pay IDCC.
My question is what more can QCOM get by buying IDCC, unless they are buying into that more essential patents you own the more you can charge up to the cap. But the cap has to be split between all participants so there is a point of no return.
Here is a rumor, I an filing a concerned citizedn brief at the ITC opposing Nokia's motion opposing IDCC's motion to compel Nokia to provide discovery regarding their alledged work around patent software. To wit, I am opposed to the discovery not being provided. I dare they file a motion to oppose us citizens.
