Thanks, jbog, for the McKinsey healthcare report. I read it (all 94 pages) and found it impeccably documented. However, the main conclusion—that US healthcare is expensive because consumers and intermediaries do not know the true cost of products and services and this ignorance leads to uneconomic decision making—is hardly newsworthy. I was under the impression that this was common knowledge.
