doubly applies to qcom. as lte is ofdm and not cdma. cdma is the royal jewels to qcom. i attended an IEEE lte conference years ago, put on by lucent engineers. the first thing they said was that they had to go to ofdm to cut the hostage royalty that "some company had." they also said, they had a chance to go to ofdm at the onset of wcdma, and screwed up.
