Then what comopanies do you like here at current valuations - give me some ideas. To be quite honest - we dont care if the drug fails 99% of them will. Our funds care that it's grossly undevalued now, and there's a catalyst for the future.
Vaxgen isn't a very fair comparison as DNA spun them off and that was where he was. And he left NOVC when their HAP drug program was dropped and he wanted to stay with HAP. He's a believer in the technology. But I'm not necessarily takign this to the grave - but if we can get a 500% move off current levels (I think we can) then I'll be happy.
On a side note Sutter Hill announced they took a 30% stake over the last few months. Three Arch, Tang, Baker Brothers, Alta and Healthcare Ventures - all have recently filed 13Gs and seem to own a combined 90% +/- of the 15m shares outstanding. I know Tang and the Sutter Hill guys and they are generally pretty good - so I'm not overly concerned.
Maybe the drug doesn't pan out but I'm guessing by that time it'll be well into phase 3 and market cap a lot higher. That's the only real reason for investing isn't it? To make money?
