Some of Palm's most recent devices such as the Centro and Treo have been manufactured by Inventec Appliances.


Tech stocks gained Thursday along with the major market indices on a better-than-expected retail sales report and an optimistic PC sales forecast.

Handset maker Palm(PALM - Cramer's Take - Stockpickr) gained 74 cents, or 11.8%, to $7.03 after it worked out a deal to offer its Centro smartphone on Verizon's(VZ - Cramer's Take - Stockpickr) wireless network.
