You don't think our attorney has his buddies at the SEC watching the MMs on this one?

Glenn is one of thousands of former SEC attorneys who now work in the private sector. Practically everyone who wants to specialize in securities law puts in a couple of years with the SEC. That doesn't mean that they have buddies in high places there 20 years or more later.
