Could you please explain, with some sort of reasonable explanation why oil needs to be pumped to have value?

Today, if pumped, what's that oil going to be worth? Less than $30 per barrel upon delivery?

Keep it in the reserves and wait for the recovery. Then what is it worth? Just last July it was worth somewhere over $125/barrel on delivery.

Why take the money out of the bank if you don't need to spend it, especially if it means taking it out now makes it only worth pennies instead of dollars?
