Falcon Ventures commences drilling at Island Lake

2004-06-28 05:33 ET - News Release

Mr. David Power reports

FALCON VENTURES ANNOUNCES PROGRESS OF DRILL PROGRAM & CORE ANALYSIS, ISLAND LAKE, MANITOBA

Falcon Ventures Inc. has commenced drilling on June 17, 2004, on the 100-per-cent-owned Island Lake property in northeast Manitoba (see news in Stockwatch dated June 1, 2004).

Drilling is being performed by Tri-Core Drilling Ltd., and is being supervised by Dr. Ralph Newson, both of Saskatoon, Sask.

The first hole has been completed to a depth of 100 metres and the results have been sent to TSL Labs of Saskatoon for analysis. Results are expected by July 10, 2004, and will be announced in Stockwatch as soon as they are available.

Located approximately 230 kilometres southeast of Thompson, Man., the property consists of 1,000 hectares and measures 10 kilometres by one kilometre along a known gold trend.

The Gods Lake Archean subprovince is part of a series of mineral-rich volcanic belts trending into Manitoba through Northwestern Ontario. Considerable exploration has been conducted on the Ontario side, but the Manitoba portion remains relatively under explored.

During previous exploration, encouraging gold values were reported, but the property was never drilled.

Falcon Ventures believes this property to be one of its best prospects.
