It has been the opinions of others on this board from Berlin, that "anything" is better than the Laidlaw project. It has also been evident, when confronted with a similar question, that "anything" is actually "nothing".

Having lived next to Berlin for 18 years of my life, I can attest to the reputation of Berlin. It is one of disdain and depression. Berlin has always been a mill town and if it wishes to advance beyond its current situation, they should fully support Laidlaw staking a claim inside the city limits. I don't understand what this "Master committee" (sounds like a crock to me...) finds so attractive about trying to build a strong Berlin downtown. Main St. America is suffering right now. Power companies are not.

IMO, the Berlin project will come online next year, welcomed or not, due to the overwhelming data from Concord stressing their interest in renewable energy projects for the state's portfolio.
