Rich,

Why don't you explain the real dynamics of the situation. I have a question for someone from Berlin. Does Clean Power own Property in Berlin and who did they purchase it from? Why did the city not purchase the Mill site if it were so strategic for its development? Who owns the town of Berlin, the Mayor and Council or the people of Berlin? What happened to the draft of the masterplan that said if Laidlaw was successful in its purchase of the Mill site that the City should work with Laidlaw in the development of the project? Isn't it better in your opinion to now work with Laidlaw as aposed to apose it? They own the site which locks it up for at least the forseable future. The cities options seem cut and dry. Why not become a strategic partner instead of instigating a fight? It seems to me that right now the best thing for Berlin is a successful Laidlaw. Look at the bright side, over 100 million dollars + is about to flow into your community. Can Clean Power boast of that size of investment? If you want to convince us that there are better alternatives for Berlin then sight them. Don't sight pipe dreams of Casinos and Hotels without actual data to back it up. Do you really think that a casino is better for your town than a power plant? Really think about it for a second. Now that Berlin lost the battle to keep Laidlaw out they should try to work with them is all I am saying.
