Quest Diagnostics' Laboratory in India Accredited by Two Leading Laboratory Accrediting Organizations
- Less than one tenth of one percent of labs in India are CAP and NABL accredited!!!
Back on Octber 22nd, Cyroport Inc announced that it has reached an agreement to begin shipping frozen specimens for Quest Diagnostics. This is the initial phase of a multi-stage program. This first phase involves shipments made for Quest Diagnostics Clinical Trials from their laboratory in Gurgaon, India to multiple locations in the U.S. IMO, Quest needs the Cryoport Express shippers to work in and to and from India. This will allow them to become the foremost CRO in India.
Mr Tiger, I must be honest and give you high marks for your cleverness. Your twist on the night before Christmas was at the very least entertaining. You also make some valid points. However, I must give credit where credit is due to Mr Cryoport. Unfortunately, I think that the Cryoport's post #1559 reply states it all. I think he is dead on!
Cryoport Inc is trying to wrap up Quest as a BIG Christmas and/or Hanukkah present for their shareholders. Long and short (its been way too long) is that Cryoport makes the containers; Fed Ex wants to ship them all, but can't in some parts of the world. DHL is the global market leader in international express, overland transport and air freight. It is also the world's number 1 in ocean freight and contract logistics.
Fedex clearly needs this product to work to boost their sales in a declining world market. However, I'm not so sure they can get the job done to Quest's satisfaction without some assistance from DHL and/or UPS. Let the "multi-stage" era begin!
With respect to Mr Cryoports comments on the reasons why CYRX got into bed with Fedex, I think you only have to look as far as Kinko's for that answer. In the long term, I think that either Fedex and/or Air Liquide becomes their partner(s) or owner(s). Time will tell.....Have a very Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, and a Happy New Year. Lastly, my prediction for the stock pick of 2009; clearly CYRX!
