I don't think anything will be stayed or dropped till the deal is signed. Look at the Samsung deal, still all they did was stay not drop.
I think I am right as my goodness they are only talking money. They no they use the patents, so infringement should be moot. Didn't they enter into a agreement with IDCC for 3G that asked IDCC to not sue for any royalty for 3G till April or after April of 2006. Now stop and think if you aren't infringing why would you give a rats rear what date they went after the money from? Give me a break Nokia has not a snowball chance in hell of going to court and winning, and I don't even think they ever go to court again over a 3G deal with IDCC.
So if its just the money then lets apply some common sense if we can. Who is the second largest producer of 3G phones, is it not Samsung? Now if you wanted to sign a deal with IDCC would you sign before the second largest vendor does who wants to knock you out of first, or make sure you see what the rate they get and get a wee bit better rate. I know damn well I would, as I would be sick if I was number 1 and found out that IDCC singed number 2 to a lower rate, and I am locked into my early signing rate.
So if you will you justify why Nokia will continue to fight and on what legal aspect you think they can win, especially if IDCC is offering Nokia the same rate as Samsung or even a little cheaper.
