Uh huh, that's true. Those pesky ~ $7 minimum wages really add substantially to BP's COGS.

I was under the apprehension that the value Americans put on a life - the avoidance of death caused by contaminated product, in this case- might also be higher than the value effective in China. If so, the policy implications are simple enough even for the US political establishment to seize. Where is Sen Sherrod Brown (D OH)and what is he doing about it?

How many drug mfg jobs has BP offshored to China and Mexico? What would it cost (ongoing) if we made BP ship them back? It would make a little bit of a dent in the unemployment numbers while restoring safety and quality assurance to the US drug supply chain.
