From what I understand the pasta is a premium brand and is up against the standard brands plus the store brand. It is too expensive.

As you have stated in your post, due to the current recession people are looking at price when they shop rather than quality. Store brands are becomming more popular.

Maybe after a turn around in the economy it will be time to introduce a high end product.
