We Are Prepared To Protect Our Sovereign Territory: Navy Commander

TEHRAN (MNA) –- Possessing excellent defense capability Army Marine Force Navy commander Abbas Mohtaj said here Friday, the marine force is ready to protect the sea borders of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Discussing the stance adopted by the United Arab Emirates (UAE) over the Iranian islands of Abu Musa and the Greater and Lesser Tunbs, as well as comments regarding the three islands issued by the Persian Gulf Cooperation Council (PGCC), Mohtaj told the Mehr News Agency that whenever Arab states meet, they make remarks about the three islands.

The commander explained that the three islands are Iranian sovereign territory and all these discussions on the issue are meaningless.

The recent shooting of Iranian fisherman, Mohtaj said was illegal. Now for safety reasons, the fisheries services are giving Iranian fishermen vital instructions because of the new security and political reality of the region.
