Interesting - "potential" is probably the key word. What the window salesman's pitch may have left out was, "if you live to be 100yrs old" you'll see a 33% savings. ;)
The other side of the coin is your electric rates have probably increased over 4yrs.
Nothing personal, but I rarely take the word of a salesperson as gospel - it's in their interest to move whatever it is they're selling. With that said, it's interesting to hear someone IN sales say they're not quite sure about the story a salesman pitched...but worse yet, a possible bait and switch.
