You are entitled to your opinion regarding which SPEC score is more meaningful, base or peak, but please don't confuse it with fact. A single i7 beats a dual Shanghai on SPECint_rate base and I am inclined to think that peak has now become your score of choice just like SPECfp_rate became your benchmark of choice when Barcelona was wiped out in every other SPEC benchmark. You will discard this one too as soon as you can find some other obscure benchmark where Shanghai can find a temporary safe haven. The point remains, Shanghai is blown away by i7 even worse that Barcelona was blown away by C2D and the only remaining question is by how many multiples? Is it 2X, 1.5X or somewhere in between? Shanghai has nowhere to hide and the losses for AMD will continue unabated until someone has the sense to turn out the lights.
