Theoretically...True...but our goal as investors IS to see them go UP in value. And beyond that, I keep coming back to the multitude of promises that were made of spinning off some percentage of these companies to shareholders as dividends...now that's a sure way to know our holdings are increasing in value (if the company being bought or merged with has value, of course).
