"What does R/S has ever to do with the stock name change?"
The company name might be retained, but the symbol and cusip # won't.
It has to do with the invalidation of old certs and the issuance of new. In "real" stocks, it forces shorts to cover.
If you look at the daily change list at OTCBB, all the splits announced there show a new symbol.
Unfortunately, I've been on the wrong end of several RS's, and they've all had symbol changes.
