My unique pick reported earnings, and they are soft:
GPRE reported a loss of .11 per share (still at profit of $1.81 for 9-month period), which surprised me. If you look at yoy results- still looks pretty impressive. The loss was due to derivatives and hedging, but not as bad a loss as other ethanol companies. Somthing to watch going into next quarter- 54% of corn is hedge over $5, while only 15% of ethanol and distillers are locked in at similar prices. With the recent decline in corn and ethanol pricing- could see some issues down the road if that doesn't stop.
