Everyone who watched last night's debate came to their own conclusions about the candidates' performances, but there's that other question to consider: what did everyone else think?

Reiterating a point from last week, snap-polls aren't the most reliable measurements, but for those of us anxious for data, the surveys at least offer a guide to public opinion.

CBS News conducted a poll of uncommitted voters, and 39% thought Obama won, 27% thought McCain won, and 35% saw the debate as a draw.

CNN conducted a quick national poll and found that 54% of debate viewers thought Obama won, while 30% thought McCain came out ahead. The CNN poll also found that Obama's favorability rating went from 60% before the debate to 64% after, while McCain's remained unchanged at 51%.

NBC, CBS, and Fox News all conducted focus groups during the debate, and all three sided with Obama.

Stan Greenberg's focus group also really seemed to like Obama.

As soon as the debate was over, I thought it was pretty obvious Obama had enjoyed a very good night. It's reassuring to see other voters reach the same conclusion.
