How could this possibly work you might ask?

You will see in past photos of HDUs and carousels there is always a spindle and
4 prongs, dogs or engagement devices.
These hook up to the bottom of the carousel to hold and drive it on the HDU.
These spindles look just like this one on the SDB system



Now imagine on the bottom of the carousel you have steel shaped like a big X,
this X is part of the bottom of the carousel,
and there is more steel than just the X,
but the X is all we are concerned about.
This photo shows part of the X in the circle.



So imagine this, they set the carousel down onto the spindle, line up the X steel with the four clips and lower it.
Notice the top of the clips are set like this \ /
This would help guide the X into the clips.

So when they drop all this into the water (carefully on a cable) you would think the basket would pop or lift right up and off!
But look at this next photo,
you can see the holes through each clip where a bolt or pin
will go through to secure the X (and the carousel)
to the big frame SDB System
