In New Zealand their SEC have banned naked short selling and as of yesterday, prohibt short selling on any stock. this is true for several Euro countries too. I think more market will see this coming.

Personally, all short selling should be banned for all markets and stocks. there is still calls and puts if one wants to hedge. IMO, any short selling lends itself to naked short selling, since there are too many loop holes for MM to use to sell short without really have the shares borrowed.

I don't think there is a fix other than a total ban and from there rewrite the rules. Why are market manipulators rights more important than hard working investors?
