Earthquake Reportedly Kills 4 in Southern Iran

Iranian state media report that a powerful earthquake has killed at least four people and injured 26 others in the south.
Local officials say Wednesday's quake damaged buildings on Qeshm, an island near the port city of Bandar Abbas - the site of a major oil refinery. They also report 10 less-severe aftershocks.
U.S. geologists measured the earthquake at a magnitude of 6.1.
The tremors were felt across the Persian Gulf in the United Arab Emirates, causing some panic among residents of Dubai.
Several seismological fault lines run across Iran, making the country prone to earthquakes. In 2003, about 31,000 people were killed when an earthquake struck the city of Bam.
