Neuro, Concerning the anxiety factor that Varney mentioned as a cause for the data failure at 900 mg and 1500 mg in RD-2 --

As far as I can tell, the only other official RD human trial that the University running RD-1 did was prior to 2005 (their 5HT RD results were published in 2005). So it's doubtful that any of the same subjects (presumably University students) participated in our CX-717 trial. In that case, the anxiety factor should have been just as high in RD-1 as it was in RD-2.

However, if that University runs other/similar respiratory type research, not RD but similar, then perhaps they use the same student subjects over and over, in which case they could be less anxious than the subjects were in RD-2. That possibility isn't much to hang our hopes on though. Fwiw, based on Varney's comments on the procedural problems encountered in RD-2, my expectations for clean results in RD-1 have been reduced considerably, though we might get lucky (again).
