PML is really not going to affect the sales that much according to my neurologist friend. He told me that many neurologists give tysabi as the last resort when all other options fail anyways. Its either 2/32000 chance of getting PML (which might not be fatal if caught early since those 2 patients are still alive) or being in a wheelchair for the rest of the life. Some of his patients are concerned and paranoid about the news, but none of them are going to stop tysabri because the drug works so well in them. He thinks if the two patients with PML recover, then Tysabri will likely be more actively prescribed since it proves PML might not be fatal if intervened early with plasma exchange therapy.

After talking to him, I have decided to build a small position for BIIB on Monday if the stock drops below 50.
