The Government Paradox...

I've long focused on the government and military domains with regards to the adoption of trusted computing for a reason: that's where the most important secrets are.

It's also where, by and large, creativity and innovation go to die.

There is no one in government (or so it appears) who likes to be FIRST when it comes to implementing a new technology. On the one hand, that's good governance... we want our tax dollars spent with great care. On the other hand, when (presumably) the Chinese government is probing your defense information systems MILLIONS of times a day, you MIGHT want to be aggressive in their defense.

The THREAT is far greater than the public has been informed of. Isn't this where the LEGISLATIVE branch has a viable role, especially given the fact that members of Congress have had their own office PCs hacked?

Must we wait for a breach of major metropolitan utility company's information systems? This is not SCIENCE FICTION or fear-mongering. It's REAL.

Best Regards,
