I don't think so.
even Genghis Khan couldn't defeat the Afghans, and rivers were even diverted to dry up the land trying to defeat them.

I do admire their ability to survive.
I don't admire the way they employ their religious views within their nation.

The Afghans are a tough proud people.
More so than Iraq or Iran, imo.

The U.S. aided the Taliban defeating the Russians and then the Taliban said:
Now what do we get for our oil you want to develop and pipe out eastward through Vietnam?
The U.S. told them, "You don't get any of that. You get to run your country."
THAT is when the Taliban was declared evil.

So much for Charlie WIlson's war.

My opinion is just that, my opinion.
