Tar sands are going to become more problematic as the price of natural gas continues to rise. Natural gas is essential to the extraction of oil from tar sands, and it is already getting somewhat controversial in Canada as high natural gas prices are making people upset, as the cost to heat their homes is often higher than the cost to fuel their autos.
