Design Logging Systems - Kerry Swain (SLB field engineer) has worked on
sending the wireline heave compensation system, the SLB workshop, and
miscellaneous LDEO equipment to Singapore.
The shipment is scheduled to leave
Houston on June 9, 2008, and arrive in Singapore approximately on July 25,
2008.
SLB, with assistance from LDEO and ODL, was able to secure a Kinley
system for IODP. LDEO and SLB continue to have weekly conference calls to
track all projects.
Design IT Systems – Project complete. LDEO staff is currently waiting on a need
date in Singapore to determine the appropriate time for shipping the LDEO
servers. The current schedule has July 15, 2008, as the shipping date from
TAMU. LDEO personnel will visit TAMU prior to this date to pack the systems
for shipping. This date could slip if the lab spaces are not available for installation
of server and computers once they arrive in Singapore

for those of you who dont know -the two proteus winches built by deep down for shlumberger are on the joides resolution and the chikyu ,the only two Scientific oil drilling vessels in the world
