Oil Prices - What to do?

I'm all for clean and alternative energies when they can handle the workload to run our economy, but in the meantime gasoline going to $10 a gallon will cripple our economy.

Bush seems resigned to a nuclear Iran, but I doubt israel will be... If they attack Iran, and Iran attempts a blockade of the Strait of Hormuz, we are all Effed bigtime... Truckers are barely getting by now, volunteerism is already dropping off hugely, local radio is talking all about the volunteers quitting at the salvation army and Meals on wheels, and others due to gas prices...

I personally don't care which technology addresses the problem here, but it needs to be done SOON.

Blocking the drilling offshore today was asinine. The chinese and indians are ALREADY drilling there... but we can't? WTF! Ridiculous. We're at the behest of foreign sources, and yet we're letting other nations drill where we could be drilling?

I just don't get it.
