Phillips became NXP and NXP is now part of STMicroelectronics (STM) which has obtained a WIN from Nokia for UMTS basebands to be delivered , I believe in 2009..

From the recent IDCC 1st Quarter conference call.

We also completed our delivery of HSDPA technology to NXP and that is now moving into production. Infineon also continues to see growth in its fine communication business, including a design at Samsung and based on public reports, good positioning for the iPhone 3G business. This is good news for us, as we derive software licensing revenue on every 3G ASIC shipped by Infineon.

When you combine that success with the expected success of NXP, Infineon and our new Asian semiconductor partner, the end result is much more meaningful contribution to revenue and profitability from our product programs. Based on all that, we are very proud of our achievements.

BILL MERRITT: One thing, Amit, I would say on that that - I think it is lumpy -- more lumpy now because to a large extent it is NRE driven. I think as, for example, Infineon, you know, they got the win with Samsung. We expect them -- with Samsung. We expect them based on published reports to get additional wins. If they drive success with that 3G business, that becomes a more stable number within that so the lumpiness as far as to go away. The same thing with NXP. They were showing the chip at 3GSM show.

So we were hoping they would do a great job penetrating with that device. We looked at the combination of STM and NXP and said, great, they are getting stronger and they have our IP. We love our licensees to be strong and pushing hard into the market. So I think as the per revenue unit ramps, the lumpiness of that line should go away.

olddog, Thanks. Wish we knew what Phillip's has done with it??????????????
