Question..How will Qualcomm receive royalty from the sale of Apple UMTS..even if Foxconn turns out to be the assembler & supplier of the iPHONE case for the BOM sum of $4-$6..do you believe that triggers a Foxconn/Qualcomm royalty for Apple UMTS at "Q's regular royalty rate" ? "A buck a phone for IDCC" and $10 for Qualcomm.... Hmmm sounds reasonable to some..

P.S. Doesn't your post include a lot of unconfirmed speculation on your part.. I fail to see the word " MAY" anywhere in your post.. LOL

vg - I think most that follow the industry find it somewhat interesting that the author mentioned Qualcomm as a chip supplier for 3G iPhone without mentioning Infineon by name too. I've personally been expecting IFX to get the biz, even though Q has a special relationship with Foxconn....and that IDCC and Q will start getting 3G royalties on Apple products. I'd like to see IDCC license Foxconn directly....maybe that's the "future products, if any"....if Foxconn hasn't licensed with us (yet), then Apple itself is prepared to pay. We would also get the stack "royalty" from Infineon...sweet

Now don't take this the wrong way, but you aren't expecting IDCC to get the chip deal for the 3G iPhone... are you?
