An Open Letter from the Interim CEO

to our Employees, Clients, Business Associates, and Shareholders

It is with great sadness that I must report that Walter Weisel, who served as CEO of Innova Robotics and Automation, passed away on Monday, May 19, 2008.

As many of you know, Walt was recognized as a leader in the robotics industry with over thirty years of service to pioneering companies in the industrial robotics industry. Walt was awarded the Joseph F. Engelberger Award, which recognizes the most significant contribution to the advancement of robotics and automation in the service of mankind.

Walt had a vision of applying the principles that drove the explosive growth of the PC industry toward the development of products that could similarly drive the growth of the mobile robotics industry. More importantly, Walt was one of the earliest pioneers of developing and implementing assistive technology for disabled persons using personal computing and robotics technologies. In the mid-1980’s, Walt introduced the world's first voice-activated robotic arm and workstation for the severely disabled, including quadriplegics.

When I first met Walt at the Emerging Robotics Technologies & Applications Conference in March 2004, I was struck by Walt’s devotion to the advancement of the service robotics industry and his passion for improving the quality of life of disabled persons who could tangibly benefit from the advancement of technologies such as robotic arm control, vision recognition, and speech recognition.

In closing, while we mourn the profound loss of Walt Weisel, we look forward to the challenges of pursuing Walt’s vision of advancing an emergent industry and making a positive difference in the world.

With Condolences and Best Regards for the Weisel Family,

Lloyd Spencer
