Thanks. I've copied your post and will make a hard copy later to go through the diagnostics.
I know that I have no hardware conflicts in Device Manager. Been there, done that..:)
Now, I'm fairly sure that the problem isn't with the modem. It's working at about 49K-50K bps.
Most of my grief seems to be with my new ISP and my memory.
I'm in the process of upgrading my memory, (the root of all evil)
