I agree with the pleasure of flying small planes, Poet. However, since I'm not sure you're aware of it, I'll mention that the best insurance in an airplane is altitude.
I don't think "whether or not people have pools or communities are settled around larger club pools or golfcourses says so much about the people who live there. their expectations and desires" is hooey, at all. My interpretation might not agree with yours, though. I once visited a friend in a "gated community". I was struck with the emotional price he had to pay to live there. In my book, it wasn't worth it. When I left, I thought about the changes I'd have to make in the way I ran my business to live in such a place ... and decided I was an unusally fortunate young man. My home may be modest, but it has spawned a marvelous family.
I think the reasons people chose invisibility in your test are interesting. Not inspiring, perhaps, but interesting. Apparently most people feel they need some kind of edge on others. That strikes me as very much in concert with what we see in our lives. And, of course, helps show how silly my attitudes are. Still, they're the best I've got.
