Thanks for reminding us that AMD is no good at doing large caches, or keeping up in the process race. Due to these things, Intel can post relatively even scores against AMD's brand new micro-architecture, in the most AMD-favorable benchmarks, while running circles around them in others.
Re: I also don't recall AMD ever calling Barcelona 'a brand new architecture' it was always an evolution of K8 for better or worse.
So you think they have always intended to stretch their one-trick pony of a micro-architecture all the way from 2003 to 2010, even while Intel is doing tick-tock on alternate years? Sorry mas, but THAT's the fairy tale....
