I'd guess on the order of 100K Opterons (this Q, as opposed to 10K or 1M).

First time a "Xeon MP" part has been below $1K, not regular Xeon.

of course, no one has actually SEEN a 90nm AMD part that I'm aware of...

You must've missed the 90nm samples shown last November.
