business, get online, play games, etc. etc. etc.

Actually, if it wasn't for Microsoft it would probably be a whole lot easier to do all those things.

CP/M was a stabler, better operating system than DOS. Apple operating systems have been better than Windows systems for years. Microsoft has stifled lots of innovation by buying up promising new software technologies and burying them.

If we had true competition in the OS field, IMO we would have had a truly solid, stable, user friendly operating system for PCs ten years ago.

Gates has been great for my portfolio. But lousy for my computing.
