The slow K8 ramp can be easily explained by economics. There is no incentive for the consumer to buy a 64-bit computer now or for the next 24-36 months. K8s are carrying manufacturing and infrastructure cost premium. They simply can't compete today with $60 Burton computers. AMD can’t afford to replace K7s with K8s and let them sit on the shelves waiting for 64-bit MS client OS for three years.
