I understand some of you are slow. Personal gain, meaning that HE is receiving funds for HIS church. One could also say it's a gain for HIS parishoners but HE is a part of the church and if anything it probably means more to HIM. To be honest with you it seems very cut and dry to me. It's HIS church. HE is the one who runs it. HE is asking for funds for HIS church. Therefore, the money HE receives benefits HIM and HIS church.
I really can't believe you wanted me to explain that.
