OT: Punkin, correct. The 583R Pipelayer is a sideboom tractor built on the D8R LGP (wide track guage) tractor, but it outweighs the bulldozer configuration by about 15-20,000 Lbs, at about 99,000 Lbs total. Because of weight and dimension restrictions, it has to be dis-assembled and hauled on two trucks. The 589 Pipelayer is based on a D9R Tractor built on a D11R track guage, and weighs in at a whopping 151,000 Lbs. They have to disassemble that machine and haul it on 3 trucks in most of the US.

All of the tractors from D8R and up (and probably most of the D7's) are shipped by rail from the factory. Trucking would be prohibitively expensive, unless you were within a few hundred miles of E. Peoria.
