Thank you GOD! Another one has opened up their heart here! We Praise you God for this testimony! Thanks God for giving her the nudge to say no it's time to open up and let people know it hurts. It hurts huge God. Please continue to give her the healing that can only come from you. In your precious name. Amen.
Happydog. Thanks for sharing. That means so much to me and others here. And most importantly it brings glory to God!
You have gone through a type of hell few can understand fully. What is good about your hell is it did end when the real hell never ends.
The scars remain though.
It reminds me of my drug use. Yes, God has forgiven me. But the consequences of my drug use may kill me in the end they just don't know when. God says he will forgive sin and some people think for some reason the consequences go away. Wrong. They stay. Just as you have forgiven your Father the consequences of his sin remain.
I know this. You have a story that God can use and he just did. Many read this board and never post that can relate to your pain. I hope they gain comfort from your sharing that God did protect you and he will bring you through the storm. Some are still in the storm.
So good to hear about your husband. What a blessing for you!
My Wife grew up with an alcoholic Mom and Dad. Both died from Alcohol. My Fatherinlaw was my best friend after my own Father. He would call me almost daily. I loved that man. I just couldn't get him to quit drinking. He was a happy drinker. always had a smile for you always wanted to please you. He was a character I'll never forget. We took a fishing trip together just him and I. What a wonderful time. Many times he quit going through detox. They told him his liver about to shut down how he made it all those years I don't know. One day I stopped off to visit him and he was all yellow. I told him I don't care what you say we can do this the easy way where you grab your stuff and get in my car or we can do it the hard way but you going to the hospital. Thank God he went the easy way. Ten days later he died. In that time I presented the gospel again. He nodded his head to accepting Jesus but I really won't know if he knew what he was doing till I get to heaven as he was in and out of consciousness. The man had a heart of gold for people. I miss him so much. Yes, alcohol has ruined so many lives. But the $$$$$$$$$$$$ involved tax based $$$$$$$$$$ the politicians will never give it up.
