Yeah, I noticed it. I assumed that they cut the cache to 2x512KB. I also assumed that it was 90 nm. There are a lot of folks out there with slower A64 X2s that may upgrade to these faster A64 X2s if the price is right. I don't see folks going to the newer stuff.

If you take a hard look at the choices, I think that just replacing machines is a better way to go after maxing out RAM and other system stuff.

I returned that 750 GB Seagate drive after reading a few reviews. It uses 50% more power than their previous model and has a reputation for running hot. My box doesn't have the space for a disk drive cooler. The 4 GB of RAM is quite nice. Noticeable improvement in disk operations and I won't have to worry about blowing 2 GB anymore.
