In LA Times "News" Article, the LAT Adopts De Facto White House Position that the Torture Tape Erasing Was a Rogue CIA Operation.

LA Times Also Refers to Torture with the Euphemism "rough interrogation tactics." Finally, It Prints This Statement as Fact, When There is No Basis for Such an Assertion, Given the Clear Likelihood of White House Complicity in the Destruction of the Tapes: "That culture, current and former intelligence officials said, helps to explain why Rodriguez ordered the tapes destroyed despite cautions against doing so from senior lawmakers, White House attorneys and the agency's director."

This is a highly unlikely scenario, but the LA Times reporter is sticking to a designed White House background narrative to clear Bush and Cheney of Wrongdoing. 12/25
