capt_jmj, Sorry for the delay but I was out for a while. I only use maxpain and options open interest at certain strikes to see how it "might" have an effect. This month the Q had a wide spread: high open interest puts 52 and down, high open interest calls 51 and up. So they kept it between 51 and 52.
Some months there can be a huge open interest of puts at a particular strike which seems to be quite reliable as a floor.
