Re AT3 deficiency:

Antithrombin 3 deficiency can be hereditary or acquired. It happens congentally in 1 in 2000 to 1 in 5000 births. Distributed equally in males and females. As an aquired disease it can be seen in liver disease (it is made by the liver and effected by VitK), chemo, and oral contraceptives...and DIC. The condition predisposes to blood clots arterial and more commonly venous usally begining in early adulthood. These can lead to some nasty clinical condions, DVTs strokes and Mesanteric vein thrombosis. I am unaware of any "reported" increase in inflammatory conditions.
