watcherandsee, One effect of options is max pain. The theory is that the existing (open interest) options have an effect as the sellers/buyers of them are able to influence the market with other money. One site which calculates it is:

Obviously the more open interest in a position the more influence there may be. The Q's usually have huge open interest.
